Welcome To Historic Ashcroft

Ashcroft nestled in the pine and sage clad Thompson River Valley is steeped in history as the "Gateway to the Caribou". It was the freight and railway center for goods and people traveling North during the gold rush and a main hub during the construction of the CN and CP railways. The CNR at one time boasted "Ashcroft Potatoes" on its menu and it once was the location of Canneries that canned the fresh fruits and vegetables that were once grown in the area. Today Ashcroft is a quiet community that revolves around mining, cattle ranching and tourism. When visiting Ashcroft a must see is the Ashcroft Museum.
