Hope is located on the Fraser River and the junctions of the Trans Canada Hi-way for travelers going to Northern BC and the Coquihalla Hi-way for travelers headed to the Okanagan and Eastern Canada. Its economy revolves around lumbering and tourism. Hope is an outdoor enthusiasts paradise. If you are a hiker or a mountain bike enthusiast, there are many old logging roads to explore that wind their way through river bottoms, valleys and up steep mountain sides and if finding gold has an allure this area was made famous during the BC Gold Rush. It was said that in the beginning of the BC Gold Rush you could find gold nuggets as big as your fist on the sand bars in the Fraser River. If you are a fisherman this area is teaming with creeks and fishing lakes.
